After seeing one made out of wood to hold the gun upright at the ready, found two 9" solid playground handles rated at 400#. I placed these one on top of the other, at suitable distances on my rear pod to both cradle and deploy the gun securely while hunting. The gun rests vertically inside of my pvc blind frame. Too often if the gun is laid down horizontally it can get snagged or take a moment longer to mount and shoot. I put a second pair in the front bulkhead for a second hunter. It can also be used as a tie down or holder for foliage.

The handles are hard plastic, my guns stocks are synthetic so not a problem, guess you could wrap them with foam for wood stocks.[I]Where hence my wild snipe field of yore
